Si difende.
He protects himself.
That's the thing about time. It goes, and we can't see it going.
One year ago, same place, same faces, likely. Today old people are one year wiser, children are less childish.
Hell, was I so happy last year, tonight. There was Silvia and Lorenzo, Fabio and Stefania. Dente was there. I was there either, with the enthusiasm of doing something I never had done at a concert before, for a couple of pictures, for a chat, for a dedication on an album entitled in a way that at the time meant everything.
Today there had been David Gray in my ears since I felt the need to get out and walk away.
And then there hadn't been since I met friends that were able to put a smile on my face until the sun disappeared.

Day 11.
Mommy, l'ho recuperato.
La vita immaginaria, sfocata, calda, travolgente, in formato
grande.
E quella vera, difficile, tragica, cupa, in uno ridotto.
Secondo me è un capolavoro.
Mommy, I catched up with.
The
imaginary life, blurry, warm, overwhelming, in a huge format.
And the
real one, hard, tragic, dark, reduced.
A
catcher in the rye of our times, without his worshipped Phoebe, without a dad, rather than a
brother, and the same mal de vivre.
It has been considered as one of the best movies of 2014.
To me, is a masterpiece.

Joshua, from Melbourne.
He's heading to Croatia, to keep touring Europe in his break from studying.
He loves carbonara sauce, has 1 brother and 2 sisters, and had a blast at lazzabaretto yesterday night..
Day 10. -1.
Ermete, il pesce mangiarete.
Non lo appendo, ho deciso.
Lo terrò per ricordare.
Ermete, the net-eating fish.
Won't hang it, I made up my mind.
I'll keep it to remember.

Li stupirebbe molto sapere
che già da parecchio
il caso stava giocando con loro.
Non ancora del tutto pronto
a mutarsi per loro in destino,
li avvicinava e allontanava,
tagliava loro la strada
e soffocando un risolino
si scansava con un salto.
Vi furono segni, segnali,
che importa se indecifrabili.
Forse tre anni fa
o il martedì scorso
una fogliolina volò via
da una spalla a un’altra?
Qualcosa fu perduto e qualcosa fu raccolto.
Chissà, forse già la palla
tra i cespugli dell’infanzia ?
Vi furono maniglie e campanelli
su cui anzitempo
un tocco si posava su un tocco.
Valigie accostate nel deposito bagagli.
Una notte, forse, lo stesso sogno,
Subito confuso al risveglio.
Ogni inizio infatti
è solo un seguito
e il libro degli eventi
è sempre aperto a metà.

They’re
both convinced
that a sudden passion joined them.
Such certainty is beautiful
but uncertainty is more beautiful still.
Since they’d never met before, they’re sure
that there’d been nothing between them.
But what’s the word from the streets, staircases, hallways –
perhaps they’ve passed each other by a million times?
I want to ask them
if they don’t remember –
a moment face to face
in some revolving door?
perhaps a “sorry” muttered in a crowd?
a curt “wrong number” caught in the receiver? –
but I know the answer.
No, they don’t remember.
They’d be amazed to hear
that Chance has been toying with them
now for years.
Not quite ready yet
to become their Destiny,
it pushed them close, drove them apart,
it barred their path,
stifling a laugh,
and then leaped aside.
There were signs and signals
even if they couldn’t read them yet.
Perhaps three years ago
or just last Tuesday
a certain leaf fluttered
from one shoulder to another?
Something was dropped and then picked up.
Who knows, maybe the ball that vanished
into childhood’s thickets?
There were doorknobs and doorbells
where one touch had covered another
beforehand.
Suitcases checked and standing side by side.
One night perhaps some dream
grown hazy by morning.
Every beginning
is only a sequel, after all,
and the book of events
is always open halfway through.

Lara works in a hotel in Bologna, is a keen trekker and a devoted sea shepherd volunteer. Today she's starting her coast to coast from Mount Conero to Argentario. From the Adriatic to the Tirrenean sea in a bit more than two weeks. Alone, because she likes taking her own time.
Day 6.
Palla! Palla! Dov'è la palla Zeus?
August is over but the list of the fantastic ten is not.
Mommy is still missing, but I couldn't make it. I will. Frances Ha, instead, I save it for a special occasion.
1st of January to me is just a formality, the real new year
starts today (the fact that I feel the typical november tiredness is not relevant). May it be a great one for everybody.
Ball! The ball! Zeus, where's the ball?
