Il Pacifico nord-orientale subartico, i 40 giorni sulla Revelle, i lunghi turni e i pasti abbondanti in aglio sono giunti al termine.
Ho visto e conosciuto cose, persone e luoghi che non avrei mai immaginato, e tutte (escludo le onde di 6 metri dei primi giorni) sono state una sorpresa che mi porterò dietro a lungo.

Debbie, per avermi mostrato come uno chief scientist dovrebbe essere. Competente oltre ogni aspettativa, calmo, sorridente, paziente, autoironico, riflessivo, equo. Un'ancora per chiunque.
Joe, per la sua accuratezza e schiettezza, semplicità e capacità che mi ha tramandato.
Karen, per essere stata una buona compagna di risate.
Brian, per l'enorme quantità di inaspettati interessi in comune, i suoi insegnamenti sulla scala pentatonica minore alla chitarra. E' stata la prima persona con la quale ho suonato e pescato calamari di 50 cm in mezzo ad un oceano. Mi mancherai, amico.

The subartic north-eastern Pacific Ocean, the 40 days aboard the Revelle, the long shifts and the garlic-rich meals have come to an end.
I've seen and met stuff, people and places that I never imagined I would, and all (except for the 6-m high waves of the first days) were a surprise I'll bring along with me.

Brian, for the enormous quantity of unexpected shared interests, the late-night minor pentatonic scale guitar classes. He's been the first person who I played guitar and fished 50-cm long squids with in an Ocean. I'll miss you, dude.
